Poverty

Professor Dr. Fatimah Kari earned her Bachelor’s degree from the National University of Malaysia (UKM), her Master of Economicsfrom the University of Leicester, UK and her PhD (Economics) from Mississippi State University, United States. She is formerly the director of the Centre for Poverty and Development Studies (CPDS) at the University of Malaya (UM).

She has published and presented many scholarly papers in the area of Environment and Poverty, Poverty Indexing and Environment and Growth. She has also been aconsultant for several consultancy projects sponsored by the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC), Ministry of Water, Land and Natural Resources (KATS) and Economic Planning Unit, Prime Ministers Department, UNDP, Malaysia, Johor Corporation and Ministry of Communication and Multimedia, Malaysia.
