IDEAS Public Forum and Pantau Kuasa Launch: Ensuring GLC Reforms in the Times of Government Change

Government-linked companies (GLC) are significant components in Malaysia’s political economy. Successive governments have recognised the importance of addressing the economic and political governance of GLC with a series of reform efforts.

As Malaysia’s politics has become more fluid in the past three years, how do we ensure the continuity of important GLC reforms with the change of governments? What are these important reforms? And given issues related to GLCs arise as a result of direct political interference, would politicians who are on the board of these GLCs ensure the achievement of these reforms?

This event will coincide with the launch of Pantau Kuasa, an online platform to track political appointments in FSBs and GLCs.
