Afiqah is a climate risk strategist with a decade of experience bridging policy, science, and public finance.
Over the past ten years, she has advised Ministers and Members of Parliament under five Malaysian Prime Ministers and has led multimillion-dollar development and infrastructure projects.
She holds dual Master’s degrees; an MA in Climate & Society (major in Climate Science with a concentration in Finance) from Columbia University in New York, and an MSc in Built Environment (Disaster Risk Management), as well as a BA in Urban and Regional Planning from the International Islamic University Malaysia.
She is currently the Research Manager at IDEAS, where she leads Climate & Sustainability research, with a focus on Green Industrial Policy, and also oversees the Public Finance Pillar.
