Direct Negotiation: Should we abandon the practice?

Debates on direct negotiation have garnered significant attention in recent times when the Minister of Finance revealed 101 direct negotiation contracts awarded by the PH government. This method has been heavily criticised in the past for being prone to abuse, as well as promoting unfair practices. Are these criticisms fair? What are the problems with the current practice of direct negotiation? Is it possible to improve the practice or should we just abandon it? This webinar aims to uncover the problems in the current rules and practices of direct negotiation and explore recommendations for reform.
