Supply Chain Bottlenecks in Asia: Challenges and Possible Solutions - discusses the development of the supply chain post-pandemic, opportunities, and challenges faced by Malaysia and countries in the region in relation to the disruptions in the global supply and value chains.
This paper analyses non-tariff measures (NTMs) introduced by Asian countries during the COVID-19 pandemic and discovers that some NTMs are still active post-pandemic. This paper also examines the role of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) in strengthening the global value chains (GVCs) ecosystem.
The authors' provided some key policy recommendations focused on the roles of free trade agreements, strengthening the digital trade ecosystem, and regional cooperation through the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) centrality.
