The webinar will first present the Orang Asli Policy Paper, ‘Education Policies in Overcoming Barriers Faced by Orang Asli Children: Education for all?’. The webinar will then discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the indigenous children’s education.  The Ministry of Education ensured the continuity of education through e-learning due to the closure of schools to prevent the outbreak. The effect of school closures on students learning varies by their socio-economic condition and the extent to which schools can provide quality education remotely. Indigenous students are one of the most vulnerable groups in the context of distant learning. A digital divide is present as these students have trouble gaining access to necessities such as electricity, the internet and devices. How will the indigenouse students get back on track after essentially missing five months of school and continuing to suffer from further inequality?
